From the Principal's Office
Wow, June has arrived!!! We had another awesome year at SVE. The atmosphere certainly changed a little with the addition of more primary students and the moving of junior students to GBCS. A huge thank you to the grade three students for being helpers and great role models for our JK-2 students. We just finished up our EQAO grade three testing (students worked very hard and had a wonderful attitude!) and as we move into June we see lots on the calendar - field trips, swimming for grade two students, grade three transition activities, track and field, and "I'm going to Kindergarten".
SVE staff and students would like to thank all of our volunteers
that have supported us this year - breakfast club, reading program, field trips, and classroom support! I am very thankful that we have such a supportive and involved community at SVE! Thanks also to our SCC and CPF - supporting our students through activities and fundraising. The SCC supported the annual turkey dinner, the family fun dance and the dance-a-thon (to name a few). SCC funds are going toward supporting year end field trips. CPF ran a movie night and supported the purchasing of French reading material.
I am happy to announce that I will be here again next year and look forward to another year of learning and adventures. SVE truly is a great place to be!

School Council News
Thank you to all SVE families that supported our fundraising efforts throughout the school year. The Save-A-Tape program will end at Valu-mart as of July 1, but bring your tapes in until the end of this school year.
Pop Tab Collection
The Elora Legion gave out 14 wheelchairs during May for a total of 2,381 wheelchairs to date and we appreciate all your help. A special thank you to Mason Savage and Kaiden Fair for their pop tab contribution.
Have a great summer and keep collecting those tabs.
Class Placements for 2017-2018
Staffing and classroom organization discussions for next school year are well underway. However, we would like you to know that changes can occur in our plans that may result in re-organization during September. As for all students in our Board, placement in classes during the full month of September is considered tentative and is subject to change while the school's final enrolment is determined. There is potential for your child to have a change in classroom or teacher after school begins. Class placements will be available on September 5, 2017.
