SVE IS A NUT-FREE SCHOOL

From the Principal's Office
I can't believe this is the last newsletter for the school year!  We have had a very enjoyable and productive school year.  We are proud of the work that the staff and volunteers have done and proud of the learning that has taken place.  At this time it is appropriate to say "thank you" to our volunteers who help with the breakfast club, in the classrooms,  and those who work in the Reading Program.  We also appreciate our community partners who greatly support our school.  A big thank you goes to our O.P.P. detachment.  I would like to thank the members of our School Community Council and The Canadian Parents for French Chapter.  It is a pleasure to work with these groups in support of our students.

Class Placements for 2016-2017
Staffing and classroom organization discussions for next school year are well underway.  However, we would like you to know that changes can occur in our plans that may result in re-organization during September.  As for all students in our Board, placement in classes during the full month of September is considered tentative and is subject to change while the school's final enrolment is determined.  There is potential for your child to have a change in classroom or teacher after school begins. Class placements will be available on September 6, 2016.

Scholastic Book Fair
The book fair was a huge success and many French and English books were purchased for SVE library.  Thank you to everyone who made the book fair so worthwhile.

School Council News
Thank you to all SVE families that supported our fundraising efforts throughout the school year.  Please continue to support our school through the Save-A-Tape program. SVE collects grocery tapes from Bill's Valumart and Meaford Foodland and receives funds to be used toward school programs.  SCC raised $2,100 from the Vesey bulb fundraiser.

Pop Tab Collection
The Elora Legion gave out 21 wheelchairs during May for a total of 2,230 wheelchairs to date and we appreciate all your help.  A special thank you to Seth Hunter and Liam Morrison for their pop tab contribution.
Have a great summer and keep collecting those tabs.
