From the Principal's Office
June has arrived and we certainly have been enjoying the hot weather. As we near the end of the year I would like to thank the SVE Community for the ongoing and ever present support we feel- from volunteering to fundraising to supporting your children in their learning, we thank you!! Through fundraising efforts SCC was able to provide: the annual turkey dinner, family fun dance, field trip funding and reserves for special projects for the new GBCS School (September 2020). Thank you! Thanks to our reading volunteers and our breakfast club volunteers - our students truly benefit from all your effort!
June is a busy month full of field trips, swimming lessons for grade 2 students, grade three transition activities and track and field for grades 2 and 3. We have scheduled lots of fun stuff for the end of the year but business is as usual in the classes with lots of great learning activities still to come.
Principal transfers were announced in May. Effective September 2018, I will be Principal at Dundalk Proton Community School. I have enjoyed my time here at SVE and will miss the community, the students and the staff here at SVE.
SVE truly is a great place to be!! Ms. Tracy Dinsmore, a former teacher from SVE will be Principal here next year.
Scholastic Book Fair
The book fair was a huge success and French and English books were purchased for SVE library. Thank you to everyone who made the book fair so worthwhile.

Thank you to all SVE families that supported our fundraising efforts throughout the school year.
Pop Tab Collection
The Elora Legion gave out 27 wheelchairs during May for a total of 2,642 wheelchairs to date and we appreciate all your help. Have a great summer and keep collecting those tabs.
Class Placements for 2018-2019
Staffing and classroom organization discussions for next school year are well underway. However, we would like you to know that changes can occur in our plans that may result in re-organization during September. As for all students in our Board, placement in classes during the full month of September is considered tentative and is subject to change while the school's final enrolment is determined. There is potential for your child to have a change in classroom or teacher after school begins. Class placements will be available on September 4, 2018.
