SVE Garden

Last school year we received a grant from the Community Foundation Grey-Bruce which allowed us to start a new garden project.  A committee of staff members was established and with the support and knowledge of Jaden Calvert, we were able to create a 32' by 32' vegetable garden, a 16 by 16  milkweed garden and a 16 by 16 butterfly garden.  Several staff members and families from our school community donated plants.  The Town of Meaford donated all the top soil, Mark Grahlman from Sunrise Organics delivered compost,Meaford Bee and Butterfly Habitat group donated seeds, Zehrs Owen Sound donated mulch, Suzanne Gill donated two composters and Rice's Home Hardware helped with the purchase of a garden shed and wheelbarrow.  Donations of time in setting up the garden were much appreciated (Bill Goetz, Noah Calvert-Goetz, Jim Morris, Jaden Calvert, Johnny Roy).  Now that spring is here, we are excited to start up this project again.  We will be setting up a Garden Club for interested students in the very near future.  Let the planting begin!
